Update

Hey guys,

I'm very sorry I've been totally MIA since the end of September! After my last post I was very unwell and turns out I now have glandular fever. It's been messing with my head and making me really tired all the time so I haven't been able to actually write anything. I'm going to try and write a post to go up sometime in November but since I've now missed a lot of school the past few weeks, I really need as much time as I can to recuperate and catch up on all of the mountains of work I have missed.

Again, I'm very sorry, but I will be back!

Love you all x

School stresses

Hey guys,

I can't believe I haven't posted since the end of August! Life has been so chaotic the past few weeks, what with doing my DofE and getting tonsillitis! I missed the entire first week of year 13 which wasn't so great... Daytime TV isn't all that great either, I managed to watch a tonne of Friends episodes and almost a whole season of Supernatural! If you're ill I would suggest DVDs and box-sets rather than channel-hopping!

To top it all off this past week has been one of the busiest ones ever! I've also been thinking a lot about this blog and how badly it's going at the moment. I can't put the time I want into it, but still want to be able to comment on it in my personal statement or portfolio. It's a tough predicament... sorta... so I've decided to just post once a month until I have finished my A-levels. It means I can spend the time I want to on posts but spread it out a little more than usual, and can go back to doing more DIY posts. It will also mean less stress worrying about the fact that I don't have a post ready to go up for that week and having a mountain of homework and coursework to do too.

I'm sorry for being dreadful with posting these past few weeks. The posts I do put up from now on will (hopefully) be a lot better, and less short and rambly! I'm pretty sure I hate them as much as you!

Again, sorry! x

My bucket list

Hey guys,

When I say the phrase 'bucket list' I guess some people either think I have a weird love for buckets (which I don't) or that I'm dying (which I'm not). I remember writing down a list when I was about 8 years old and thinking it was such a fantastic idea! The things I put on the list weren't even all that special, some of them were just to try a certain food. I've added to it over the years, as I've grown up, and the things I've added have changed accordingly. I've even managed to cross a few off the list in the last year or so!

1. Learn to drive - This one is actually complete now, I learnt for 4 months and passed my practical test on the 15th of April this year. I can remember wishing I was older when I was 13 just so that I could learn to drive. I didn't just want the freedom it gave, because I had quite a bit of freedom anyway, what I really wanted was to be able to do things for myself more. To make spontaneous decidions about where I'm going to go one day and not have to ask for a lift. I was so excited that the first thing I did was go and buy my mum a bunch of flowers and surprise her with them to say thank you for ferrying me everywhere for 17 years!

2. Buy my own car - This is another completed item. I brought my first car last weekend and I totally love it! It's a grey Toyota Aygo and it's even sparkly in the sun!

3. Go to Australia

4. Try a cheese and ketchup sandwich - This one is slightly odd. I can't for the life of me remember which book I read about it in, but I knew I just had to try it, just because it sounded like a weird mix!

5. Run a marathon - Even though I don't run (I have actually started a 'couch to 5k' programme I made this week, so I guess I have to say I do run now) I've always wanted to run a marathon. My dad ran the London marathon back in 2010 and since then all I've wanted to do is follow in his footsteps.

6. Complete a triathlon - This one, again, is inspired by my parents. They trained for and completed a section each, along with my uncle, however, I want to take it one step further and train for and complete a whole one on my own!

7. Travel the world

8. Fly in a helicopter - I had a weird fascination with aircraft and helicopters for quite a while. I used to watch 'aircrash investigation' all the time and I even began to know what brought a plane down before they'd even got to explaining that part... I still love aircraft and finding out random things about them but I have calmed down watching so many TV shows about them!

9. Get a Saturday job - This, again, is another completed one. I got a job at House of Fraser last August (a year ago last Sunday) and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Some people think I'm a little weird that I actually love the hustle and bustle of the Christmas period!

10. Be happy - This one is probably the biggest point and, even though I might not always be able to acchieve it, I want to spend the vast majority of my life as happy as possible.

Unfortunately I couldn't actually find the list I wrote all those years ago, so I can't remember exactly what was on it. If I find it I may do an updated list in a few months or so!

I hope you're having an absolutely lovely week so far!

The Cursed Child Review

Hey guys,

I hope you enjoyed all the posts that went up whilst I was away. I had an amazing holiday, it was the perfect temperature and we got to do so much!

After I got back, I went to the Harry Potter studio tour in Leavesden and it was a-maz-ing! I will do a post on it soon to give you all a sneak peak into what there is there. On the same day, I borrowed 'The Cursed Child' and I couldn't wait to read it. There has been so much attention on this story and originally I wasn't sure if it would be able to live up to the original series but it was so well written and I adored it! Absolutely adored it!

It is written as a script and I managed to devour the whole book in 2 hours, a new record, even for me! Once I started reading it, I just couldn't stop! I even forgot to eat breakfast I was so captivated by the story. It ties in aspects of the original 7 books but also adds new information. There are shocking aspects and heartwarming aspects alike, and every little part just felt like it all fitted in perfectly.

It is definitely worth the money and the time, especially if you're a total potterhead like me! It just added almost all of the information I was so intrigued by at the end of the 7th book. However, I'm not going to tell you the big secret, you're going to have to read it yourself to find it out.

I really hope you have a read, and I really hope you love it as much as I do!

Makeup revolution eyeliner review

Hey guys,

A while ago, whilst I was searching for different coloured lipsticks, I stumbled upon the makeup revolution website. It had a load of different products that I had never seen in any Superdrug stores. I saw this eyeliner and was pretty surprised that it was only £1.50. I originally thought it had to be not so good quality-wise as other, more high-end eyeliners but I was very pleasantly surprised! It was very easy to apply and the brush nib is a good size to create a cute little flick.
The best thing about it was that it was waterproof, and by waterproof I definitely mean it was about as waterproof as it could get. It might have been slightly too long lasting though as it was slightly hard to get off using my wipes and micellar water. I did like how it would stay put if I accidentally wiped my eyes or something though. It made me a bit more confident that I wouldn't end up with eyeliner on my chin by the end of the day!

I hope you don't mind that this post was slightly shorter, but I think short and sweet reviews are the easiest to read (and the easiest to write) and you get more of an accurate opinion. I also had to improvise a little on the photo because just as I wanted to take it, it started raining...

I hope you are all having a lovely week!

Holiday staples

Hey guys,

Sorry some of the photos in this post are a little dark, the English weather is so frustrating! It was so sunny before and now it's trying to rain and cloudy! Not a blogger's best scenario! I've tried my best to lighten them a little, but I'm not the best at editing photos, I just take them.

Every year, there are a couple if items that I know I just can't cope without (I could probably cope, I just wouldn't really want to). They include simple things, like a hat and sunglasses. The hat was £4 from New Look, it's currently in the sale and the glasses were also from New Look, but I brought them 2 years ago so I don't know whether you would still be able to find them or not.

I also like having different body sprays. When I'm at school and it's hot it's nice to be able to just quickly spray and feel a bit less like you've been sat in hot classrooms all day sweating. However, they are like gum at school and as soon as you whip it out, everyone wants to use it. I love the impulse sprays, they're lovely smells, but I also like the Superdrug own brand ones, which are slightly cheaper at the moment. They're still great smelling and I just feel like I get more for my money with them.

It's always a good idea to have a good lip balm and moisturiser. They help with the dry skin you sometimes get if you spent too much time in the sun. I will always love this simple one, it just works really well for me and I think it is definitely worth the money. The little pot of it is from Primark, I brought it just before I did DofE so that it was nice and compact for me to carry, I think it's only about £1. I don't actually know where this lip balm came from, I know it's from W7, but I have no idea here you can buy it unfortunately. It is similar to the EOS lip balms in it's design, an it is really smooth and pretty good for keeping my lips nice and soft.

(I'm really sorry this photo is so dreadful, everytime I tried to lighten it, you couldn't see the bottle clearly!)

This is the last one on the makeup front; setting spray! Honestly, this is probably one of the best purchases I have made in the last year. It is only £5 from Superdrug (and it's also by my favourite brand) and it holds my makeup in place really well! I'm always so pleased, it helps to stop me sweating it all off in the summer months.

Another summer must-have of mine is my camera (which obviously I can't really take a photo of). I love taking photos on my holiday but also just of the regular things I see, bugs, flowers, happy people...  I just love that I can take it anywhere and take any photos I like (within reason of course).
The last one has definitely got to be a good book or 2! I love reading generally, but when it's combined with summer and sitting relaxing in the sun, reading just trumps everything! I chose 'The List' by Nicola Yoon and 'Everything, Everything' by Siobhan Vivian to take with me and I will hopefully be posting some book reviews about them in September/October time. I really liked the blurbs and am really excited to read them! However, anyone that knows me will know that these wont be the only 2 books I take on holiday with me... and they would be right! I am taking a couple of others, which I will also hopefully be doing some book reviews for.

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far!

What's in my holiday makeup bag?

Hey guys,

I hope you enjoyed my favourites post on Monday! This one is a holiday edition of 'what's in my makeup bag' (not that I've done one of those before anyway).

I don't tend to wear very much makeup on holiday, and what I do wear is very minimal. I've made the mistake that past few years of taking way too much, and then just never wearing it! This year, however, I have decided to just take the basics for my usual, everyday look and then a couple of extra bits for if I decide to add a lippy, or eyeliner etc.

The makeup bag I have decided to take is this purple and red-ish one from Toni and Guy, I actually got it free when I went to an apprenticeships fair with my school. It's the perfect size to hold everything I need, but isn't too big, and its not a totally awkward shape to try and pack. I will probably put it into a bigger bag with all my other toiletries, just so it's all together.

I decided to take my make-up revolution Euphoria palette because it has all the neutral and gold toned eyeshadows I wear on a daily basis, but it also has bronzer, blusher and highlighter, all in one place which is pretty handy! I love both of the palettes I have from make-up revolution, they're such great quality and all the colours are so lovely to use.

I didn't want to take any actual foundation, because I want to give my skin a bit of a break, but I am going to take a concealer and powder too just control any shine if I'm going out anywhere or to just cover over any major breakouts.

I also have the other 'main' pieces, like mascara, pencil and liquid eyeliner and lipbalm, and then I'm also taking a couple of lipsticks. I have 3 colours (a red, pink and darker red) and then a neutral one for more general wear (if I can be bothered to put any makeup on in the first place!). I also have 2 nail polishes, a neutral one and the green/turquoise I currently have on my toes, so that I can top it up if needed.

To make my makeup looks stay put for a little longer I'm going to take my makeup revolution setting spray and a No7 eye primer. If I go to the effort of putting makeup on for an evening, I want it to actually stay put and this setting spray is actually very good at doing just that!

I don't think you need to take very much makeup on holiday, it gives you a chance to give your skin a break and no one will massively care that you don't have 3 layers of mascara on on a particular day. (Or at least, I wouldn't).

I hope you are all having a lovely week so far!

Playdough recipe

Hey guys,

I hope you're ok with the change in schedule for these posts, it will only be whilst I'm on holiday (which I am currently in the car on the way, woo!). There will be posts up on the 4th, 8th and 13th, after this one. I get back on the 13th and then there will be a post up on the 15th and the normal schedule will resume. I hope you like the posts that will be going up, I was going to try and post every 3 days, but that was just too much for me to do in such a short space of time. I will be scheduling them this week to go up on the dates above, which may mean that there won't be any tweets about them when they actually go up, I will try to, but I haven't yet figured out how to get the links to posts before I actually post them. I think I will probably end up just putting a link to the home page where you can find the post. Anyway, let's move onto the actual post now...

When I was younger I absolutely loved playing with playdough (like most kids out there I guess)! My favourite thing was to make 'food' from it and run my own little restaurant. I would even make little menus for my family and take their order! I have so many photos of me playing with it, and creating little people. The only problem I had was that I used to forget to put it away a lot so it would end up going hard pretty quickly, and I just used to end up with a brown blob after a couple of times playing. My mum decided she was going to start making her own, to save having to try and buy it all the time for me, it meant I could play with it any time, rather than just whenever we managed to find somewhere that sold it.

I think she just did a google search for it, but it may have come from a specific book or something. I'm not 100% sure as it kind of surfaced around 11, maybe 12 years ago, and I can't remember that far back.

I know the measurements are in cups, so if you're not used to working in cups, then when measuring out all the ingredients, make sure the cup you use is the same for all of them, so this will ensure that they are all in proportion to each other. you will need: 2 cups of plain flour, 1 cup of salt, 2 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil and 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar (this is optional, it just helps with the elasticity of the dough). You can also add a few drops of whatever food colouring you want, or separate the batch after it has formed dough and create different colours.

When my mum was making it, she would mix the salt and water in a pan over a low heat, then add the cream of tartar, food colouring and sunflower oil and mixing it all together before  adding the flour. I think this just made it easier to mix together before  it became a ball of dough (this should only take a couple of minutes). She would then wrap it in clingfilm and leave it in the fridge for a few hours to make sure it was cool enough to play with. If we were being particularly impatient she would put it into the freezer to cool it down quicker. However, you do have to be careful not to let it freeze or else you will have to wait for it to thaw out again.

This recipe might come in handy if you have kids yourself, and need to try and keep them entertained during the summer holidays, or if you just really want some playdough to play with but don't want to buy some. Just remember, it isn't edible, so keep it away from pets and ensure children don't eat it as the large amounts of salt may cause imbalances in the body.

I hope you all have fun if you try this out!

DIY enamel dots

Hey guys,

As a quick warning, this DIY didn't really work all that well, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for seeing perfect little dots that can be used for delicate things. They kind of look like little slightly-coloured splodges...

I saw this idea on Pinterest, and I thought, 'yes, I can do that with my glue gun' (I actually can't, and I burnt myself a few times). I have since done a little more research into it, and the ones I saw were actually melted beads. Pinterest: 1, Megan: 0... However, I thought you might like to see my attempt!

I was using my glue gun for them, but you definitely need to make sure it is very very hot so the glue forms a dot, rather than something that resembles a Hershey's kiss (If you don't know what that is, its a little teardrop shaped chocolate with a flat base). I was gluing them to the back of an old notebook I have (yet another mistake!) which turned out to be a really bad idea, because I couldn't get them off very easily. I had to try and pry them off with my nail and ended up breaking some of them in half. Oops!

The ones I did manage to get off were ok I guess, they were quite cool little blobs. I painted them with a coat of acrylic paint (not a good idea to do it after you take them off the sheet), which looked a little bit patchy in the end. By this point though, I was so done with the whole thing that I just gave up and have since decided that should I need any enamel dots in the future, I will be buying them, and not trying to make them with a glue gun. The only one that came out ok was the tiny red one on the far left of the row! I might keep that one, but the rest will be being relocated to the bin very shortly!

Don't you just love it when a DIY fails! (That was sarcasm, I don't actually love it)

I am going away on Saturday, so hopefully I will have written the posts for the next 2 weeks by then, I'm also hoping to post twice a week whilst I'm away, so stay tuned for some great ones! They will be scheduled, so there may or may not be any tweets about them, and I'm not 100% sure which days they will be up yet, so I'll let you all know closer to the time! I hope if you try to make enamel dots that they turn out a lot better than mine did!

Rock monsters

Hey guys,

Sorry this didn't go up yesterday! The paint I used took slightly longer than I wanted it to to dry.

I saw some rock monster photos on Pinterest a few weeks ago and I really loved the idea of them, so I decided to go out and find some random stones in my garden and put them to good use. I found 3 of various sizes so I could try out some different looks. I think they went pretty well actually.

Before I painted them, I had to wash the rocks slightly as 2 of them were covered in moss on one side from where they'd been in the garden quite a while. They were still pretty green, but I figured that since the paint I was going to use was acrylic, it would cover over it.

Depending on which paint I was using, some needed 2 or 3 coats, whilst others only really needed 1. I painted all of the rocks first, then drew out a few face ideas on a piece of paper so I could decide which ones I liked best. To draw on the faces I used black sharpie for the blue and red rocks but black acrylic paint for the purple, as the sharpie didn't really show up very well. White acrylic worked well to create the teeth, but I would suggest using a thin brush, as bigger ones are a lot harder to be precise with.

For the eyes I decided to use 2 different sizes of googly eyes. They look super cute stuck on (I could only find super glue, but I'm pretty sure any other type works just as well) and give them a cute yet fierce look.

I hope you enjoyed this post, I would love to see if you decide to make these, so feel free to tweet me (@_littleblog)! I hope you all have a lovely rest of the week, I hope it's not too hot or too cold for you all!

A lantern of joy

Hiya,

Back at the beginning of May, it was one of my friends' birthdays. She was the friend that I made this for all the way back in 2014, and since I try to make different and more personal presents for each of my friends, I had to try and top it.

I ended up looking for ages and trying to think of something to get her, but I just couldn't think of anything, until I saw this little lantern and knew I wanted to use it.

In the end I decided to fill it with different sweets that she likes, which happened to be chocolate raisins and m&ms, which actually created quite a good contrast of colours. Before I put the sweets in I filled the bottom with all different colours of confetti made from hole-punched paper. I think I had the whole 'festival vibe' thing going on, because the confetti reminded me of festivals and summer.

To create the little parcels I found some little zip-lock bags and filled them so they were fairly full, but not entirely full so I could fold the end over and selotape it down to keep them as sealed as possible. To then make them look slightly more pretty and 'present-like' I tied small different coloured strands of ribbon around them and then stacked them all into the lantern.

Just to add an extra little touch, I made some tiny washi tape bunting to go round the top and make it extra cute.

My favourite thing about this present is that she can eat all of the sweets, and still have a lantern for tea-lights and other things. I also gave her a little anklet as an extra little gift with it and so she had something else to actually unwrap.

I thought this was a cute little summer present idea, and it probably would have looked slightly better with it totally full, but I just couldn't figure out how to make it still look great, whilst being very full and without the glass panels breaking.

I hope this inspires you to have a go at making something cute for a friend or family member's birthday, or just as a little gift for someone! I will see you all again next week!

I love you all!

26 facts about me

Hey guys,

I think that this time I'm back to starting up writing again! Woop woop! I'm really sorry for messing you all around, and I totally understand if you have decided to never read my blog again, but obviously, I would love for you to stay a little longer! ;)

The other day, I was wondering what to post about today, when I realised that, in 2 and a half years of blogging, I have never done a post where you get to know me a bit better. I realised that actually, people really like getting to know all about the person behind the web page and what goes on in their head, I know I do! So, here are 26 random, and sometimes weird, facts about myself that I think you'll like!

1. My full name is Megan Grace Randell, so when I was calling myself Grace, it wasn't a lie, I genuinely prefer that name, but now that I'm growing up a little, I feel like I really need to grow to love my first name. Also, if you do know me, feel free to say hi!

2. I am 17 and a half years old, so not quite an adult yet, I'm just kind of sitting in the middle at the moment.

3. My favourite colour is blue. I like it so much that at least one item of what I wear each day is usually a shade of, or has blue incorporated into it. For example, today I have a blue flowery skirt, blue t-shirt and blue tights!

4. I am secretly a total maths nerd! I'm even part of what we call the A* group at school where we talk about current events and applying to uni in form time, exciting or what...

5. My absolute favourite thing to do is read. I love that feeling where you fall head over heels into a book, and don't surface until you have turned over the last page.

6. I'm about to do the expedition for my silver Duke of Edinburgh award, which is so cool! Also so weird, because I started this blog for the skills section of my bronze, and look where we are now!

7. I have a weird fear of bridges... I'm kind of ok with driving over them, but I hate walking across ones like the millennium bridge in London! They just really freak me out!

8. Weirdly enough, my next fact is that I love swimming! Told you some of them were weird!

9. I am originally from Watford, a town in north London, but now live in a pretty small village in Buckinghamshire.

10. My favourite foods are: chocolate, pizza, pasta and Doritos! Although, not all at once!

11. I can drive, I passed my test on the 15th of April this year after learning for just over 4 months.

12. I really love creating families and houses on sims, but never seem to find the time to play it after I create things!

13. I like a guy at school, but doubt I will ever tell them!

14. I am really great at folding towels because it is what I do the majority of the time I'm at work!

15. Cats are definitely my favourite animal, but I think turtles are a close second! Cats are just lovely to cuddle and sometimes they sleep on you, which is just adorable!

16. I am currently wishing I had a block fringe again, but, alas, it is too hard to look after when doing DofE, so it'll just have too wait.

17. I never believe that people actually want to be talking to me, I always think that they just think I'm being super annoying, and so when they don't reply I don't tend to message them again for a while.

18. I like hugs, but again, going back to the previous fact, I don't hug many people!

19. I am a little (ok, maybe a lot) weird with some of the things I do and say, but it's better to be weird than be boring!

20. Drawing cartoon-y monsters is one of my procrastination methods... although my friends probably think I'm crazy!

21. When I was younger, I used to sleepwalk a lot. My mum would wake to to find me sat on the side of the bath with a load of random things piled up around me!

22. I decided this year that I want to go to uni after year 13 and study product design! Which is a total change from wanting to do medicine this time last year, when I chose my A-levels!

23. I really want to write a book when I'm slightly older, but can't decide whether to try children's books or adult's.

24. I have a board on Pinterest that is totally devoted to Harry Potter, because I absolutely LOVE the series! I'm even going back to the Leavesden studio tour in August (hopefully there will be a post about it!)

25. My favourite place to be is in a little village called Albareto in Northern Italy. It's nestled right up in the mountains and it such a beautiful rustic place!

I mean, how could I not love it!

26. And finally... I really love to make people feel good. Whether it be complimenting them, or cheering them up when they're down, I just love seeing other people happy, it's part of what makes me happy!

I hope you have enjoyed finding out a bit more about me, and what I like to do. Well done if you managed to make it all the way to the bottom, you can have a virtual hug and a gold star for the effort, since it was a pretty long post!

I love you all!

Saturday 2 July 2016

I'm back baby! Kinda...

So, you know  that feeling where you just have a total lack of motivation, and find you don't really want to do anything productive? Yeah, that. That's how I've been feeling the past few weeks, even though I took time away from writing to 'find my style' as it were.

There's a couple of things I'm going to do now, the first is that I'm going to change the day I post to Monday, it will just mix it up a little, but isn't too much of a change. The second thing is that for the next few weeks, my posts probably won't be massively long, just while I get back into the swing of it and get used to posting and writing on a regular basis again.

The first post will be this Monday, the 4th, and I will try to get it up at 7pm UK time, so that it goes up just after the #TheGirlGang twitter chat.

I'm sorry it's been so long, and that I'm still kind of failing with the posts...

Love, Megan xx

Saturday 23 April 2016

2 Years on...

Seven hundred and twenty eight days.

That's how long I've been writing this blog. For the most part it's been amazing, and I've loved it, but at the moment everything seems to be piling up. I've been struggling to post on time, struggling to think of ideas and write the words, taking poor quality photos and my quality of writing has definitely taken a hit. Next month I will be taking my AS level exams and at the moment all of my revision and coursework is taking over. I know a lot of bloggers still write and post whilst taking exams, but I don't feel like I'll be able to handle everything. So, I've decided to take a break for a while, and I was going to start next week, but I figured that it may as well be today as this week will be another busy one, and I probably won't get another chance to sit and write this. Hopefully I'll be back at the end of June or in July, after my exams are over, but at the moment I'm just not sure. I hope I'll come back with new ideas and a set style, and later this summer I'm really going to try and work on my schedule, write some back-up posts and find a good way to take photos. I'll update my twitter on a regular basis with general things I get up to, and I'll definitely update when I'll be back, closer to the time.

When I started this blog, I just wanted people to listen. I was recently 15, and just needed someone to be there. Now I'm 17, which albeit, isn't that much older, but I feel like I have grown so much as a person. I've made different friends, become closer to old friends and had so many different experiences. When I was 15 I desperately wanted to help people, and I thought the only way I was going to be able to do that would be to go into medicine, but now, everything has changed. I've realised that, actually, I want to be as creative as possible. Not just on here, but in everything. I've realised that I can help people in different ways, I just have to think of them. The world is my oyster, as they say.

I know this sounds like I'm quitting for good, but I'm not. It was just that when I started typing, I just couldn't stop. The words were flowing, and I knew I needed to say them before they went again. Those of you who follow my twitter will know that I recently added 'Megan' to it. Grace is my middle name, Megan is my first name, but I always used to hate it. So many people were called Megan and I just so wanted to be different. I thought I needed to try and be someone else, but actually, all I need to be is myself, and I think I'm going to use these next few months to work on that.

I love you all, thank you for sticking with me and always being supportive! I hope you all have a lovely few months!

I'm going to come back better than ever, so stay tuned...

Ombré Nails

Hey guys,

I hope you have all had a great week! Mine was brilliant as I passed my driving test! I'm super happy, and now I get to just go anywhere I want! (Within reason, as I'm just using my mum's car for now!) But still, woo, freedom!

I took the photos for this post a little while ago, when I posted my last nail idea. I thought using the colour wheels would make it easier to take the photos, and that my camera would focus better, but sadly, no.

To start with, I painted the whole nail in a shimmery dark blue. You could use any colour for this idea, but since blue is my go-to colour, here it is!

To add the white at one end, I used a small make-up sponge that I ripped a small section off of, and put a small 'puddle' of white polish on an old plate so that it would be easier to put onto the sponge. It creates a stippled look, which I thought was quite cool, but if you wanted it to be smooth, a top coat would sort it. You just have to keep dabbing a little bit of white, or lighter blue, at the end of the nail until you get the desired effect. It's kind of down to personal preference as to how dark/light you want it.

This next bit is totally optional, I just wanted to kind of incorporate a second design into one, so that it was a bit longer, and more interesting. You don't actually have to put it all together on one nail.

I decided to add a line of small gems along the base of the nail, and up the centre to give it a bit more glam, for if you were going out somewhere and wanted it a bit more special looking. Just having the line along the base, I think, looks pretty nice.Adding the line up, and the spots, I think, over-did it a bit, but then, that might just be my opinion!

Sorry this post didn't go up yesterday. I'm having a bit of blogger block at the moment! Also, well done to my friend Mollie, who guessed the last language was Finnish!I hope you all have a lovely week!

Love, Grace x

What's on my iPhone?

Kamusta,

I saw this idea quite a lot on YouTube last year, although not quite so much recently, and I've only seen a couple of blog posts on it. I think it's kind of run its course for being the new 'in' thing, so now, of course, it's time for me to jump on the bandwagon and join the 'cool squad'! I haven't even cleared anything off my phone for this, so some of my apps haven't been used for a while.

I have a lot of junk on my phone, in the way of old photos that I've downloaded onto my laptop about 5 times, but have never deleted, and music that I almost never listen to anymore. Considering I only have 8gb of storage on my phone, you would think that I would clear them down! (Obviously I also have all of the generic apps that come with the phone, but everyone knows about them, so let's just focus on my ones).

What do you think of my background? I personally really love the quote (found on Pinterest) and all the colours!

I'll start with social media. Over half of the apps on my phone are relating to social media in some way, which is kind of sad I guess. I have a lot of different apps, but my favourites have got to be Twitter and Pinterest. I love being able to chat with you lovely people on Twitter, and I absolutely LOVE Pinterest, which you have probably guessed from my previous posts! I decided to delete Facebook a couple of months ago, because it was taking up space and I was using it way too much. I kind of go through phases for the rest of the apps, like, Tumblr. I don't use it for a few weeks, and then, BOOM, 3 day binge. I kind of like, though, on Snapchat, all the filters and how I can save photos even when my memory is full by putting them on my story, but since I always forget to check it, it's kind of useless.

When I do actually remember/bother to schedule tweets, I use Buffer. It's pretty cool and is easy to use, with a simple layout. You can also schedule posts for Facebook and Pinterest on it too.

There are also other things like YouTube, Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp, but they're not so important. Show my homework is a bit of a waste of space, but it does show me what homework I have and when it's due in for school... sometimes.

I only have 2 games on my phone, and Wordbrain is quite a fun game. There's a square of letters and you have to spot the ones that fit into the square, in the lengths specified by the level. I also have the Disney version of crossy road. If you love Disney characters, then this game is perfect for you! You get to play as and collect loads of different characters from the majority of all the different films! It's actually pretty fun (when it loads of course, which it didn't when I was trying to take screen shots for this post!).

Last week's language was Finnish, and I think this week will be the last of the language guessing posts. I hope you've enjoyed it!

I hope you all have a lovely week!
